Andes Trip 2008

There are few times that one has the opportunity to take epic trips. On October 13, 1972 an air force plane carrying 45 passengers crashed high up in the Andes mountains. Most of them were students and rugby players headed from Carrasco, Uruguay to Santiago de Chile. Only sixteen men survived this tale of human endurance.

Patricia and I were invited by Carlos Arismendi, an old friend to head down south and embark up the andes mountains to the wreck site of the F-227. We had high expectations for this trip not only because of the nature of it but we were going to share the experience with two of the survivors, Alvaro Mangino and Jose Luis Inciarte.

Like any good trip its not about the destination,
its about the journey there so I broke the trip in sections.
